Jerry's Pumpkin Patch

OUR STORY

My wife and I moved to Bavaria in 1985. Shortly before Halloween I went downtown to look for a pumpkin to make a jack-o-lantern, but I could not find one, so I ordered one from a vegetable store. It was a big yellow ugly thing and it cost 20 Marks, which was about 10 €.

So the next year, I decided to try to grow a couple of pumpkins myself. That first year, we raised three pumpkins the size of a grapefruit. Through the years, we have become well seasoned in growing beautiful pumpkins.

Each year we plant 4.8 acres. This way we have enough pumpkins for all of our children, grandchildren, some left over to sell to our American/German friends, and neighbors!
